And as a result of that, I expect we will stay in the EU.

This is what I think too. What a bloody mess though

A second referendum?? and if Remainders lose agaon will we then have to have a 3rd or will it be Ad Infinitum until Remain get what they want

A 2nd Ref? what then if Remainers are not happy with that result? Ad Infinitum? until they are satisfied

A second referendum would be even more divisive and may not yield a different result. The onus is on Members of Parliament to work together through a process which will enable us to leave the EU with a good deal. No deal should remain on the table as a last resort.

Seriously if that were to happen then I (along with many many many people in my position) will be the happiest person ever.

If a 2nd referendum results in the same outcome then so be it  . But I do think that should there be a 2nd referendum then people (after all that has been going on now) will have more clarity and understanding of what Brexit actually is, what it entails and what the long term consequences are (be they good or bad) and they can make a more informed decision compared to the first referendum that to me was based on so many inaccuracies it's not even funny. I suspect many will vote the same, but I also do think that many will change their vote.

But that's the issue - there is so much backstabbing and in-fighting going on in Parliament I really don't think they'll ever agree to anything

Well said Ria. A second vote would at least satisfy those of us who believe we were misled and lied to about what Brexit would entail. If it's still Leave after that then fair enough.

I think you're right, Saundra.

When other EU countries have been down the "second referendum" route, like RoI and France, the turnout in the second vote has been much higher, and that swung the vote pro-EU.

In this case, however, I think the Leave vote will collapse through apathy and distrust, and that will allow Remain to win. I'd reckon turnout would be significantly lower.

It will still leave a divided country, as Medsec points out, which I do not believe will be "healed" in my lifetime. Expect an exponential growth in extremist politics, both Left and Right.
