Good afternoon, folks!
Confirmation received that the solar panel people will come next week and hopefully give it a good kicking
. After lunch, Mrs O's first shopping excursion since probably the start of March!
We went down to Waitrose and mercifully it was very quiet. She was able to get the cosmetics she wanted, and also replenish our stock of birthday cards as, like you, Jen, she had stocked up back in the January sales and we have now run out! I went round separately and topped up the quartermaster's stores with teabags, lentils, and the like. No chocolate after yesterday's weigh-in; Mrs O has similarly been "embarrassed" by the increase - understandable really as we are not getting anything like the exercise in lockdown, and we're both gronffing too much, especially during the evening TV.
At the checkout, the guy before me suddenly decided he wanted a paper, so of course he walked straight past me twice to get to the rack and return.
I resisted the very strong temptation to shout "Tit!" at him; I have vowed to reserve the use of that epithet for BBC news-broadcasters.
Then to Iceland and despite the prominent signage, an elderly couple happily going round the wrong way ....
Hope Pepper's OK, Kaz
Where does you fish man come from, Crommers, Grimsby? We used to have French onion sellers on bicycles come round back when we previously lived in Somerset; apparently they had secured a large warehouse in Poole by the docks and operated out of that!
Take care all.
