Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 25 Jun 2020, 05:46

Good morning.

Flippin hot!

I'm back from my walk and about to have a swim. :D

We're going shopping. Torremolinos to Dealz as salad cream is urgently needed for me. And Colman's mustard (yuk) for Don.

I can see a cold beer and dinner out happening tonight.

Have a good day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely, sunny morning and we're going to be not as hot for the next couple of days. Back to normal temperatures, bliss 8-)

General pootling - which basically means reading  swimming 8-) and doing not a lot :D

We're off out for dinner tonight too :Hi: It's our 38th  wedding anniversary today and tomorrow, so we're booked in at the Adega do Monte Velho for tonight and beer and me cooking tomorrow night. The celebrations continue on Saturday, as we're down to Jan and Joquinha's on Saturday night :D

Have as good a day as you can everyone xx

Jan, very Happy Anniversary to you and Grumpy, I hope you have a lovely time :D :D xxx

It's very warm here today! Thursday again, so Sainsbury's this morning - Becky is coming with me and getting D's shopping for her :) Going early, trying to avoid the heat and queues - we'll see :?

Take care everyone, in this heat! xxx

Morning all.
Don and Mick are sound; I like mustard too. :)
Happy anniversary Jan! Kaz, we went to Sainsbury's at 7pm the other day and it was OK.
Another day of not very much happening here today. Salad later, it's too hot to be doing much cooking.
We have a little ratty visitor to our garden; or it could be a big mouse. I have bought a bait box and some poison but it doesn't seem to have had any effect as yet. Twenty years we had cats and never saw one. I'll put some more poison in the box tonight.
Two of our neighbors have had them. Nichola next door stopped feeding the birds when she saw a rat in her garden. And Sergio's dog Tess killed a rat in his garden a couple of months since. Apparently since the takeaways and pubs shut they are in people's gardens more, looking for food.
Have a good day all.

Morning you lot

another hot day here, but I'm loving it.... the cats have become pro's at finding cool spots in the garden so generally a lovely peaceful time. I went to the allotment this morning just after 7 to do a bit of watering and weeding and it's just so tranquil there. I have to set an alarm on my phone to remind me to come home in time for 'work' :D

Kitchen continues to be a slow work in progress; the super wonky walls slowed us down quite a bit. Last night we put the blocks on the floor for the kitchen island bit (well it's a return of units to create a u-shape) and tonight Karl is coming by so we can attach the units to the blocks. Tomorrow the counter top hopefully will go on which means I can then start building drawers and start filling one or two cupboards. And then Saturday the oven and hob should go in as will the basin (I think). There's still quite a bit additional stuff to be done such as fixing walls and plugs etc but that can be done in stages. Oh and I need to buy a new radiator for what was the passage area - the old one that was there is now gone; and I'm not sure the one in the dining area will be enough in winter. But we'll see - and again; that has time before it needs doing.

My new induction pots arrived yesterday as did my new office chair - I've been using a dining chair up until now and it's not been the most comfy; so now I've bought a bright yellow padded chair on wheels; makes things a lot more comfy and easier ;-)

Jan, enjoy the dinner tonight - congratulations to you both x
Crommers, please do be careful with the poison - it's horrid stuff and the problem is the rat will eat it and then run off and be eaten by something else and then that creature (owl, fox, cat, something else) will be poisoned to. Not to cause controversy, but I really really hate poison and it's a very cruel way to kill anything. If there isn't a food source around the rat will soon move on :( I was woken the other day by an odd noise so went out to investigate and saw an owl on top of a tree trunk in my neighbours garden. Such beautiful animals.
Kaz, hope the shopping goes OK. The few times I've been in an actual shop (vs online shopping or click & collect) I've gone late in the evening and it's been a pleasure with no queue.
Ally, enjoy shopping and that beer later today

Have a lovely day all - stay as cool as you can x

Morning all :D

Loving all this sunshine 8-)

Ally we love salad cream, so much tastier than mayonnaise.
Have a great day Jan.
Eeek Crommer, I absolutely hate rates

Another groundhog day for us, too hot to do anything, we'll be sitting out in the garden all day.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Afternoon all, a stunning day here. Our supermarket delivery came early so that’s all checked and put away. We have an order from Boots due to be delivered between 11.45 and 13.45. Edward has gone across the road to chip golf balls around and when he comes back I’ll go for a walk. I’ve already been to the shops and the post office, had a few different chats along the way which was nice. I can’t bring myself to do much in the way of housework, there’s plenty of rainy days for that

Salad cream and mustard *vomit smiley*

The seagulls in Bournemouth wouldn't even be able to get a look in on the beach, Saundra, if you've seen the news ....
