Complete dearth of dragonflies down on the river this year. I guess it simply hasn't been hot enough. We've a few of the "aristocrat" butterfies around - Red Admirals mainly - but no Tortoiseshells.
What we have got, unfortunately, is a plague of rats - all the neighbours are reporting them.
They are brazenly coming into the gardens in daylight hours this year. There's little point us trying to "control" them because we're next to the local country park; the local population will inevitably be huge.
