Once we had made the lanterns the gloop inside was turned into soup and mash and we got some sort every day for days on end - chop, chips and a side of gloop; bangers, mash and gravy - and gloop; stew, spuds and gloop. About the only time we didn't get any was at breakfast..... but I bet mum did think about it.
But that is pumpkin you're talking about, not marrow! Marrows are overgrown courgettes
