You set yourself up to make half the stuff for the world and then do as you wish. Seems to work.

As for people constantly getting it? How many times did people get a bad cold in winter or spring, all over again. Yet nobody was tested to see if they had the "same" bad cold, all over again.

We need to stop testing unless someone is serious. Because this is simply never going away. The vulnerable have access to constant booster vaccines to keep them as safe as a vaccine can. The rest of us just need to get on with it.

The sad fact is that some people's immune systems simply forget viruses over time. They are way in the minority and the rest of us will carry on.

We saw this at new year. It confirms what we already knew but were not certain of. Mrs S had this back in Jan 20 and I gave it to her. I suffered 3 days of not being very well where I stayed away from work and got over it. Mrs S was really ill for a month. We took all the vaccines and never thought about it again. Until last New Year and Omicron. We went to two evenings with friends over that new year. Everyone who went to those evenings went down with Omicron, one after another like domino's. Except us. We didn't get ill and testing proved negative.

This fits with the observed evidence that an infection, followed by 3 vaccines, makes you almost invulnerable. Not totally but, within reason and middling exposure, protected. All the others had been triple vaccinated but had not had Covid.

OK I did a lot of research before we had the third, we'd both had AZ twice. I went for Moderna as a booster because all the evidence said it was a better fit for those who had been vaccinated with AZ.

I won't be having any more vaccinations unless there are restrictions if you don't. As far as I'm concerned they work and we're protected.

Yes all those we had been with were triple vaccinated and they ALL got Omicron.

We did not because we'd already been infected Before we were vaccinated. That was something I read ages ago. Nice to see it is true.

My Brother seems to get Flu every time it comes round. He never seems to develop any resistance to any strains. He was like this all his life, always the one coming down with stuff. But they are the exception, not the majority.

John’s had notifications from three people at work today to say they’ve all tested positive, his apprentice doesn’t have it but his parents and brother do.
Sadly the mother of one of his colleagues died due to complications from it a couple of weeks ago.

One of the ‘positive’ colleagues is wondering if he should go into work on Monday if he doesn’t feel too ill. The admin woman said on the chat that she’d rather he didn’t as she’s due to go on holiday on Friday, she’s contacted the main boss for his feelings on it and he’s left it up to John and one of the directors to decide :?

Best not to, I would have thought? I think the reason why we're seeing a spike is because positive people aren't always isolating.

Really sorry to hear about John's colleague's mum, that's really sad :(

A woman on our local West Country news said she and her whole family (husband, two children) had each had it three times this year! :cute:

From my reading of how it works, the key factor was getting the infection before any vaccinations. So that the vaccination re-triggers the immune response.

I also made a point of picking AZ for the vaccine and Moderna as the most compatible booster.

No checks on vaccine status coming in now. They're not interested, we're in "live with it" mode.

Mick tested positive this evening. He started to feel unwell earlier, so took a test - two big red lines came up within a couple of minutes
