Good morning all, it’s sunny although quite chilly.
Bill’s had his long walk and I did the washing last night so that no time was wasted this morning in getting it out on the line.
Next up was a call to the vets. Bill has a great little device called a Vetpen for his insulin. A new insulin cartridge goes in weekly, stick a new needle on each use, turn the dial to seven units, stick the needle in him and press a button and it quickly and easily give him his dose. All done in two seconds.
These cartridges are now out of stock everywhere and that’s likely to be the case for four months. The vets have two cartridges that we can buy (two weeks worth, plus we have one unused still in the fridge) but that’s all they have, they’re obviously in the same position of not being able to get stock, then it looks like we’ve got to start using proper syringes which makes me very nervous, I don’t like syringes. It’s not the thought of sticking the needle in him but having to press the plunger down as well as hold him still.
Add to that, his food hasn’t been so easy to get recently and one of his eye drops (which are actually a human prescription eye drop) are also unavailable and have been for the last month.
Just some general cleaning up to do today and I’ll hoover Tom’s room - he tidied up in there last night and the floor is actually clear now
Have a good day all
