Oh yes, they really did, the little boy looked so happy :D - they went so quickly too, and she said with three suitcases and six boxes of belongings???

I dread to think how much 'stuff' I would be carting :?

Ally did you get rid of a lot of stuff and start again, like they did, or did you take it all with you? Being nosy now :geek: :P   ;)

Although it's been nearly 11 years Kaz it seems like yesterday! :D :D :D

We sold the business.

We sold our house (to a couple from Madrid!)

We sold the 2 cars.

All the furniture was sold (as soon as we said we were moving suddenly all our friends were staking claims to everything which was great)

2 days before we flew to Spain the house was completely empty (the kitchen still had all its goods) but all our possessions were packed in large boxes. 9 of them.

The four of us had a suitcase each and hand luggage.

That was it! It was so exciting..even typing this now makes my heart beat faster at just how much of adventure it was to be making this move.

We rented for the first year we were here and after 12 days our boxes arrived but remained mostly unopened (I'd packed one box with a few sentimental things, some of the boys toys, etc. and clothes so's I wouldn't be unpacking everything only to pack it all again once we'd settled into our new home.)

The other boxes weren't opened again until we'd bought it and moved in. :D

The rented house was fully furnished so we just bought everything new for our new home. :D

What I did learn was how very adaptable the boys were and how much 'spirit' they had at such an early age.
I also realised 'stuff' is just that...'stuff' and we could get by very easily on just the possessions that were at hand. :D

Best thing we ever done. :D :D :D :D

I saw the first five minutes just before I finished at the gym and planned to watch it on iPlayer while I had my lunch, like I've been doing over the last few weeks but it's saying that it's unavailable :x Shall have to set up a series record for tomorrow onwards.

She did look a right misery though!

I remember the pregnant girlfriend one can't remember if they ever went tho
Takes ally of nerve and heartache tho
Plus it seems to me that it's mostly the mums of the family who make the first move
Problem with the catch up programs is it's a repeat except for the last 10 minutes
Delayed me going into town lol

Selfish of me Saundra but I'm glad they do all the stuff on the catch up first as I never caught it first time round so it's nice to see all the history.

It is lovely to see people want, and make, the huge move to another country.

But Australia is such a long, long way away, isn't it?

I take comfort in that I honestly can be back in the UK in the time it used to take me to get from London to Glasgow to see my mum and dad.

Looking forward to catching up with the next family. :D

LOL Saundra I dash round with the hoover and such first thing so I can sit and watch it, 'cos after that I'm usually getting ready to go out, or unloading the washer before I go out. I am hooked

They were always just going to take their problems with them, that pair - he was a bit useless :( I feel very sorry for their girls, they must not know what planet they're on
